Spiky visitor.

Over the past few weeks I have had the chance to have my trail camera set up in my garden most nights. At first I had a hedgehog visiting every few days but over the past week he has been coming every night. Unfortunately though he hasn’t been around to the last two nights but hopefully he will visit again some time in the next week. I’ve been able to get some footage of the hedgehog on my trail camera, at the moment there is only one visiting but in the past I’ve had up to three.

I attract hedgehogs to my garden with dog food and meal worms which seem to be there favorite. I’m looking forward to filming he or she again over the next few weeks again, here’s some of my most recent best footage.

Garden beauty galore!

Yesterday I visited Elford Hall Garden with my local Wildlife Trust Group (The Lichfield Wildlife Trust). Firstly we were given an introduction about the place then we went on a walk round. I managed to get lots of lovely photos of the beautiful flowers, sights and wildlife here. The sight was nothing less then a wildlife haven, with ancient trees, bug hotels, a wide variety of plants, the River Tame which goes past and some woodland areas. It was a wonderful place to walk around and I’m looking forward to going again. For more information about Elford Hall Garden here’s the website – http://www.elfordhallgarden.org.uk/

Here are some photos that I took.

Day three in the Lake District.

After an exciting second day tracking down some red squirrels. Today we decided to go to some more urban areas. This took us to a town called Barrow-in-Furness. We didn’t see much wildlife as we were looking around the shops but I did see a lot of gulls. Some of which were nesting in some unusual places, one example was a pair that had a nest in a statue on a round about!

On the way back to the place we stopped at, we stopped at a small town called Ulverston. One thing I noticed about being in the Lake District is that wherever you look, even beyond the town centers, you can see wonderful hills and countryside in the background. Here are some photos that I took today on day three.

Day one in the Lake District.

As I had last week off school I spent five days in the Lake District, Monday to Friday, in the Lakes. We stopped at a place called Flookburgh which isn’t far from Kendal. Over the week I managed to see lots of different wonderful wildlife, scenic views and much more!

This time last week we had arrived where we were staying and we’d had a look around. We weren’t stopping that far from the sea, here are some of the photos I took on the first day.
